Shovels and Rope – 1.04.2011 @ Crystal Pistol Saloon

I stopped in Tulsa on the way home to catch the wonderful husband-wife duo Shovels and Rope, pairing Cary Ann Hearst with Michael Trent of The Films.  In addition to their combined effort, both musicians have recently released new solo records–Michael with The Winner, Cary Ann with Lions and Lambs (available at shows) and the Are You Ready to Die EP.

The pair has plenty lined up this spring, including an obligatory Texas Invasion.  Catch them on your way to SXSW!

Thanks for posting this! I had wanted to get down to this show, but couldn’t. I previewed this show in the January issue of The Current here in northeast Oklahoma and I hoped they sounded as good live as it seemed they might. Sounds great.
