Mike Neff is rarely in Denver these days, but he always manages to squeeze in a show or two while in town.  This particular El Sinfín show was an opening set for Pink Hawks, who were celebrating the release of Shima.  El Sinfín’s own self-titled album (recorded by Neff while down in Chiapas, Mexico) can be obtained via bandcamp.

Pink Hawks organized quite a lineup for their Shima album release party, inviting four other acts to share the Mercury Cafe stage:  Bad Weather California, The Dendrites,  El SinFin, and The Future of the Ghost.  The Pink Hawks performance featured a complete run-through of the new album, which is a highly addicting hours worth of afrobeat jazz.  I’m not sure if the CD is available at local records shops yet, but a digital version can be purchased via bandcamp.
